Right Perspective on Life (Pt.2)

As I mentioned in the previous article, God wants us to get the right perspective on life. In order to accomplish this, changing our attitude and considering the purpose of God for our life are some necessary steps that we should take. As with any task or mission, preparation is very important. One of the main questions for undertaking of any project should be: “Do we have access to the resources we need?” Managing to live a godly and victorious life is no exception. One of the resources that we desperately need in our life is wisdom. Many mistakes are made, relationships are ruined, businesses fail, and lives are shipwrecked because of the lack of wisdom. Needless to say, knowing how to connect to this resource is very important. In James 1 Bible mentions testing that works patience in our life and wisdom that we can get from God. Wisdom here is not philosophical knowledge or intellect, but spiritual understanding of the purpose of God and the best course of action. It is God’s common sense. It is not a coincidence that wisdom and testing are mentioned together. Testing often frustrates us and makes us have a tunnel vision. Wisdom, on the other hand, expands our horizon and makes us see beyond the clouds of trials. God’s intention concerning wisdom is clearly expressed in His promise. “He gives to everyone liberally without reproach” (James 1:5). This word “liberally” can be also translated as “sincerely” or “without having a second thought about donation or gift.” “Without reproach” indicates that God neither attaches any strings to His gift nor reminds you about your mistakes or shortcomings. To put it plainly – God is ready to give. James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,” expresses God’s invitation to us to connect to this valuable resource by asking Him in faith. So, regardless who you are and what people think about your potential, look to God for wisdom, look to God to help you with major decisions in life. This resource of wisdom is available for you.
